What is the Women’s Development Network?

The Women’s Development Network was formed in 1998 as a space for communication and interchange among grassroots women’s groups and organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean working in economic projects.

The purpose of the Network is to help women help themselves and each other, in spite of the geographic and cultural differences, to improve our productive projects and micro enterprises in order to have greater possibilities of fulfilling our main objective: to improve the quality of life for ourselves, our families and our communities. Experience has taught us that “We can accomplish more together than alone”.

One of the main objectives of the Network is to overcome the traditional isolation that perpetuates the poverty in which we live. The activities of the Network facilitate communication and the interchange of information, ideas, experiences, knowledge, materials, and inspiration among the participating groups and organizations in order to maximize our resources and minimize the limitations in our economic projects.
